15-Minute COD Analysis for waste water and drinking water

The Mantech PeCOD approach measures photocurrent charge originating from the oxidation of organic species contained in a waste water sample to quantify COD. 
The result is that the user obtains the most accurate measurement of organic pollution, in less than 15 minutes, with no use of dichromate and mercury, providing operators with real time data needed to make timely impactful decisions that enhance the environmental protection. 

Moisture / Solids Analysis

Fastest N/protein determination in beer, milk & soft drinks

Elementar is the pioneer of the Dumas combustion analysis (according to AOAC, DIN and ISO norms) for the determination of N/Protein from macro samples into the gram range, which currently replaces more and more the wet-chemical Kjeldahl method.  

The upright crucible design ensures an optimal combustion of any kind of liquid samples. Combined with the unique post-combustion technology a reliably high, matrix-independent data quality is achieved. Solid samples of 1 g can be measured with outstanding precision and accuracy. 

 
 
 
 
SpectraAlyzer

The Zeutec SpectraAlyzer BRAUMEISTER is an instrument for beer quality check and control and is the ideal solution for routine analysis of major quality parameters during beer production.

 

In modern brewing quality control operations, reliable and accurate analytical results are necessary to provide customers with products of highest and – what is most important – consistent quality.

Designed as a modular system, the SpectraAlyzer BRAUMEISTER solution presents the analytical results of these major quality parameters within 45 seconds: Beers: alcohol, density, extracts, bitter units IBU, N-content, FAN and color (EBC). Beer Mix drinks: alcohol, density, sugar content, total acidity and pH-Value. Cider: alcohol, density, extracs, total acidity, pH-Value, SO2, individual and total sugars, dissolved CO2.

Sucrose and BRIX Analysis

Optical methods as refractometry and polarimetry are widely used in the beverages industry. 

Refractometers measure the dissolved solids in sugar solutions: they are available in inline and at line configurations. On top of that they can be used for both quantitative or/and qualitative analysis. 

A refractometer can be grated in a way that the measured value indicates directly a dry substance % RTS. For sucrose, this unit is also named Brix. 

 

The VariRef from Schmidt & Haensch  is a new bench refractometer with state of the art technology: a double isolated peltier systems allowing the fastest temperature control and thus reducing the influence of environment temperature, resulting in fast and precise measurements. 
Combine this with its flat shapped flowcel that is very easy to clean and we have the perfect tool in house to be used in a production environment. 

Polarimeters measure optical rotations of Sucrose-containing solutions. 

The VariPol from Schmidt & Haensch is a new bench polarimeter with standard the following features: automatic wavelength calibration, with build-in Peltier system for automatic temperature control, LED light source, small footprint and easy to use.

Sterilization and Pasteurization

It is important that the food industry ensures that its products meet the highest standards of microbiological quality.

What is sterilization?

Unlike pasteurization, the sterilization process seeks the elimination of all microorganisms, pathogenic or not, that reside in fresh foods and cause their decomposition, by treatment at temperatures above 100ºC.

In this case, the food is heated from 120ºC to ultra high temperatures (UHT) of 140º, to cause the death of the microorganisms and their spores. Because microorganisms do not survive, sterilized products have a longer shelf life than pasteurized products, although its disadvantage is that it can affect the quality of some products.

What is pasteurization?

Pasteurization allows the elimination of microorganisms that cause food adulteration. It is a thermal treatment to reduce the microbiological load of liquids and solids, controlling the temperature and time of the process. It consists of heating a food to temperatures below 100ºC for a brief period of time and cooling it quickly, during times and temperatures that vary according to the type of product, its format or type of packaging.
